Are you a fast walker? A slow walker? What might it reveal about who you are as an individual? A recent meta-analysis examined people’s walking speed and found the faster the walker the more likely that person was extroverted, conscientious, and more open to experience new things. Even more, this meta-analysis also discovered that older people who reported being more extroverted, conscientious, and more open to experience new things slowed down their walk over the years less than other people. That is, they had a slower speed decline. What this suggests is that walking is indeed perhaps related to one’s personality.
