This week I found myself re-reading one of my most beloved books, On the Beach, by Nevil Shute. It is not my first time to return to this book. Over the years, I have pulled it down from the shelf to read a short passage, chapter, or sometimes even the entire story. Each time it leaves me with something new. The story tracks the lives of people grappling with the end of the human race brought on by nuclear warfare. Although simple in plot, the book, pushes the reader to think about their place in the world.
